Officials paly a vital role in the athletics structure with clubs required to put forward their quota of officials at each league meeting, Points towards the teams scores are awarded (or deducted) accordingly For example at the first CSSAL match our athletes won the competition by 30 points, but when officials points were factored in we dropped to second by 7 points! Obviously this is disappointing for all concerned.
Planning for this years event is well advanced and we now need to gather names of those who can help on the day (Sunday 14th April 10am to 2pm) The race requires around 100 volunteers with the monies raised form this race subsidising our membership costs, so your support is greatly appreciated by all.
We have planned two club information evenings for members (or parents of our Junior members) to explain improvements we are making in regards to:
- Collecting athlete availability for events.
- How we select teams and communicate same.
We would also outline a new idea for a Club Mentoring Programme for increasing the number of Officials we have. Finally, there would be the chance for you to ask questions.
These evenings will be ideal if you are unsure about availability or are new to the club, they will take place on
