December Updates: Jim Dingwall Bursaries, Youth Council. Handicap Races, London Marathon and more
Jim Dingwall Bursaries: These bursaries are designed to provide financial support to any of our members who are in further education and applications are now open. To allow us to fully assess how you are balancing your education and you athletics these are awarded a year in arrears, so we only invite applications from those who were in further education in SEPT 2018. More info and how to apply can be found here. Closing date for applications will be Dec 31st.
Youth Council: The club are keen to explore setting up a Youth Council sub group. This will would help junior members to share their views and feel more involved with the club. If you are interested in this and are aged under 23 then please fill out this very short form.
Cross Country: The season is progressing very well with many of the exploits well captured in our press releases which can be viewed here.
The second part of the XC season availability forms are now due for completion and can be viewed here. Please submit these by Dec 31st
Indoors: Our athletes are also performing very well in the Indoor League with many of out teams well placed. After the first meeting the U13 girls are top of their league and the U20W in second place. Other teams are sitting just outside the qualification spots for the Finals Match, but strong performances and full teams at the next meetings should help this. Euan Cunningham had a very productive day at the first meeting by setting two new club records at U15 60m & 200m.
Entries are now open online to the various Scottish Championship Indoors Events. These are very popular and will book out fast,so if you wish to enter please follow the links on our our upcoming events section or go straight to the SA website
Xmas Handicap Races & Fun Run. These will take place from our clubhouse in Thornhill Rd, Falkirk on Dec 29th at 12.30. The fun run is for age groups U11, U13 & U15 simply turn up on the day if you wish to run. The 5K handicap race is for all other age groups, with the 200m handicap open to all. To allow handicap calculations ahead of the day please fill out this form if you intend to run in the 5k or 200m handicaps.
London Marathon: The club has been allocated one entry into the London Marathon on 26th April 2020. If you would like to be considered for this please follow this link. Please do so by Sunday 8th Dec outlining your competitions in the previous 12 months to include Roads, XC and any long distance track events. Please note this is not a free place and those entering must have been a member for at least one full year.
