Roads Champs Update
The club’s exclusive virtual challenges continued over the weekend of 12th to 14th June, with 20 members taking advantage of this event to test themselves over a 5k course. Another fantastic turnout for these solo efforts. Well done to all who took part. Three times round the football stadium seemed to be a popular choice of fast, flat course for many of the competitors, and so it was with the quickest Vic in the event, who was Gary McKenna. Congratulations Gary on a great time of 18:00. Fastest female was Caitlyn Christie, who chose a canal setting for her excellent 19:56. Well done Caitlyn.
Regulars will know that the series scores are calculated using wava, to give an age grade, and top of that table was Grant Matheson, with 81.35%, closely followed by the fastest female, Karen McAllister with 80.34%. A big pat on the back to both of you.
After 5 events in the 2020 road series we now have 4 men, and 1 female who have completed the minimum requirement of 4 runs. Leading the ladies is Monica Anderson, but she has 4 competitors chasing her down, with 3 runs each, Karen McAllister, Roisin Fulton, Lorna Kennedy and Katy Mcgonigal. The 4 leading men are Grant Matheson, Alex Bryce, Malcolm Finlayson and Alastair McCallum. They have a big group of 7 men who have completed 3 runs chasing them down and still very much in the hunt for medals. Callum Hogarth, Calum Ross, Micheal Ross, Craig Johnston, jim McLaren, Andrew Stavert and Stephen Baird remain interested for sure.

Look out for an announcement about the next virtual challenge, which will take place in July.
